Right, so before winter is out, we need a list of places with fireplaces (that are in use). We all know nothing beats having dinner or sipping wine on the couch next to a roaring fire, especially when it’s raining and miserable outside. Kalk Bay – Polana – one of the best fireplaces & views in town.

Massimo’s Pizza Club: fireplace,VERY hot pizza oven and to finish a sugar cube infused in aromatic alcohol and set on fire!!

Avontuur wine farm on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset west
French Toast in Bree Street has a great fireplace downstairs.
El Burro in Greenpoint has a lovely fireplace inside, and a delicious range of tequilas to make a fire in your belly..
Pastis Brasserie in Constantia now also has a fireplace in the non-smoking restaurant area (in addition to the fireplace in the bar lounge).
