Documentary Screening: Uncounted

While You Were Sleeping has organised another documentary screening at the Labia. Uncounted is about election fraud in the 2004 and 2006 in the United States. It examines in factual, logical, and yet startling terms how easy it is to change election outcomes and undermine election integrity.

I am really looking forward to seeing this for various reasons. I have some very strong thoughts about democracy, which I will share when I do a review of the documentary. Also, America is held up as a shining example of democracy and capitalism and I don’t think it’s as shiny as they would like us to believe. They are having elections soon and we are having elections here next year so I think it’s a very relevant movie right now.

As usual, I’m sure the discussion afterwards will be very interesting and I look forward to hearing the various points of view.

Uncounted is showing at the Labia on Sun 2nd Nov at 6:15pm, Mon 3rd Nov at 8:15pm and Tues 4th Nov at 8:15pm. Tickets are only R20 and not only do you get an interesting documentary, but you get to support the only independent theatre in Cape Town.
