National Braai Day Celebration ticket giveaway

I think Braai Day is a great idea, it ties well into Heritage day. But to be honest, I often don’t get to braai on Braai Day. I live in an apartment, so I can’t braai at home and I have very few friends so I don’t get invited to braai at their places. It’s pretty depressing when I think about it. So I don’t think about it.

But this year my problem is solved. For the first time there is an official Braai Day celebration. It’s happening at Hamiltons Rugby Club in Green Point on the 24th (obviously), starting from 10am (live music starts at 1pm). It’s sponsored by Savanna and Good Hope FM, so it should be huge.

The band line up includes Mi Casa, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Jack Parow, Me & Mr Brown and Bed on Bricks.

This is going to be way better than the braais at my friend’s places. Sure they have cold beers and a braai, but is their meat cooked by a professional? Is there live music? Will they have crowds of people having a jol? I doubt it. Even if they invited me to braai at their place I wouldn’t go. I’m going to the OFFICIAL Braai Day Celebration.

And I want you there with me. So much so that I’m giving away 5 double tickets! Tickets are normally R80 and available here. But if you want to win tickets, send an email to dax@relaxwithdax.co.za with subject “Braai Day tickets” and include your details in the mail ie Name & phone number.

I will select the 5 winners at 2pm tomorrow (Friday 21st). You will be notified by email and will receive your tickets via email too.

Ps. if you can’t make the celebration then at least braai somewhere, with family and friends. And if you do, make sure you use these tongs, as they are the best tongs in the world. No others come close.

    Dax,

I was one of the 5 winners of a set of double tickets to the braai day event on Heritage day. Man, oh man, what an event!

Jack Parow absolutely killed it on the day! I’ve never seen him live before, so was psyched about the opportunity. He certainly didn’t disappoint.

The organisation of the event was also great – the artists seemed to be very comfortable with the setup, there was more than enough seating for everyone and parking didn’t seem to be an issue at all. I will say that the marketing of the event wasn’t that great – I actually heard about it via this competition. Not that I’m complaining – the fact that the whole thing wasn’t packed to capacity suited me just fine.

Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks for keeping me informed about what’s happening in and around Cape Town.
    regards,
    Willem
