Pinotage on Tap this year was a great event again. The usual attractions were there, like barrels of pinotage, mountains of strawberries accompanied by a chocolate fountain, great live bands and an awesome setting.
This was my third year at Pinotage on Tap, so what was different from last year and the year before? Each year they have different bands and this year was aKing, Lonesome Dave Ferguson and a swing band. I quite enjoyed the music. The food this year was done differently, apart from the trays of food being offered around, there were some stands where you could swop your vouchers you received on entry for some curry or pasta.
‘There isn’t much else to tell you except that we had a great time as usual. I can tell you that if you are planning to go next year, buy your tickets well in advance. There were so many people who couldn’t get tickets this year.
We stayed in some lovely chalets next door on Mooibly farm. The chalets are lovely and the place is very picturesque with lovely gardens and a swimming pool. I would definitely recommend the place. Details available on their website http://www.mooibly.com/accommodation.html
On the Sunday we spent the afternoon at Bontebok Ridge Reserve which was awesome. We did a game drive and spent the rest of the time braaing at the lapa which is next to the dam. What a great day that was. Read more about Bontebok reserve here: www.bontebokridge.com
There is certainly more to Wellington than I realised.
